We all love a good "before" and "after," don't we? It's fascinating to watch something go from "bla" to "awesome!" I like to call it the "Cinderella Effect."
We've all seen the design shows like Propoerty Brothers, where they take a seemingly dreary space and transform it into a unique and imaginative oasis. Well, I've rounded up some of my favorite "before" and "after" interior decor transformations. Enjoy!
I'm in love with Emily Henderson. In my mind, she is a design genius. She is true to herself and true to her clients. Did I mention she is obsessed with hammocks and likes to dress like a flight attendant!? My own personal idol!
This is a makeover that Emily did for her friend's home. The couple had two very distinct styles and in the process of trying to combine the two styles, they made a mess of their house. I mean, can the living room be any more boring? Nope. The simple and clear answer is "nope." Emily worked her magic and turned this geek pad into a chic pad.
On to the next. Yeah, I'm obsessed with Emily Henderson's work so she gets to make not one, but two appearances on the "Before // After" post today. This is the home of a senior citizen who had won a national contest for a makeover of one of their resident's living spaces. Giving AND creative. Emily, you are a stud.
Considering I've already put myself out there as borderline creepy obsessive for Emily Henderson, let's just round this out with... you guessed it: another makeover by Emily Henderson.
This is a home in Breezy Point, Queens that had been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Enter Emily Henderson, who redesigned the house. But let's be fair: "designed" is not even a fair word to describe this makeover. It's more like "transformed." It literally does not even look like the same place. Not even a little! Good work, Emily!
Thanks all for coming along on this fun little Cinderella design quest!
