I got punched in the gut not once, but twice, by some striking words of wisdom.
First, I read a quote by Jane Buckingham, CEO of the consumer research company Trendera that really stuck with me. She said:
"So many young women treat life as a constant status update. They're thinking about how their lives look instead of how their lives feel."
Then, I saw the above manifesto poster from Striking Truths that pretty much relayed the same message.
"Boom," and might I add "boom." Right in the gut.
So many times I will be out at a wonderful dinner or party and HAVE to share it with the world on Facebook or Instagram. What I really should be doing is focusing on the present moment and enjoying the company surrounding me.
What do you guys think? Does technology make you feel sad sometimes. Looking at the fabulous lives of people I don't even know gives me this stupid envious feeling. But then, I'm guilt of wanting to share my photos too. Hmm... discussion please.
Also, if you like the above manifesto, you can receive a daily or weekly email delivering like messages for free from Striking Truths! You can also buy posters of the manifestos too. Very cool.
I just signed up cause I like a little kick in the pants every so often to remind me what's important.
OK, back to the discussion... thoughts?
