Fabulous Necklace Swap

Have you all met Jill from Classy With a Kick
If not, allow me to introduce you to this stunning and stylish lady!

Jill and I met several years ago at an industry function. I remember Jill well not only because she was dressed to perfection, but because she was SO nice. Fast forward several years and Jill and I got back in touch only to realize that we had both started fashion blogs AND opened Esty Stores AND started making handmade jewelry! So crazy that we followed such similar paths!

Jill created her Etsy shop "Classy with a Kick" to help bring a little "kick" into everyday attire. Jill's hugely popular lace necklaces, which have been featured in Glamour Magazine and Open Sky, are the perfect combination of classy (lace) with a kick (fab neon colors).

Jill and I decided that it would be fun to do a necklace swap on the blog today. I had originally planned to do a fashion post featuring the necklace but I had a series of bad hair days so I've put together an outfit inspiration board using her White Lace Bib Statement Necklace

Jill is generously offering GlamourMash readers a 20% discount at her Etsy Shop, Classy With a Kick! Just enter "GMCWAK20" at checkout! Be sure to stop over at Jill's blog HERE to see her feature about her GlamourMash necklace too!

Office Essentials

I am SO excited to decorate my new office when we move into our new place. After going for several years with no space to add an office (I'm currently typing in bed), I am really looking forward to having a creative space that is all my own and can house all of my stuff! Considering the fact that I registered for my GlamourMash business license last week (insert "yippie" here), I really am needing the space to run my business.

I've been picking up pieces here and there for the office... bargain hunting and splurging alike... I am having a lot of fun with it! For example, I scored a West Elm Parsons Desk, which is usually $349, for only $99! Yes, there is a 2-inch chunk missing out of the top (hence the price) but I am going to remedy that with a pretty potted plant. I also purchased some new fabulous art and have also finally splurged on a $24 stapler I've been wanting. Yes, I know, I'm sick. I spent a crazed amount of money on something that should never cost more than $4 but I will truly look forward to stapling every invoice that comes my way. Boom.

Summer Brights

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

What does summer mean to you? I love to ask myself questions like this as it helps me remember the exciting things that lay ahead in the coming months. Here is my list of what summer means to me:

1. Banish black until Winter and break out those Summer brights!
2. Bike rides on the boardwalk at the beach
3. Cocktails on rooftop bars where the sunshine can be enjoyed properly
4. Weekend getaways
5. Watermelon sangria
6. Backyard BBQs and picnics the beach
7. Light dinners that don't slow you down a'la simple salads and charcuturie boards
8. Sleeping with the windows wide open
9. Picking out a new bikini
10. Moving into our new house in the middle of June- wish us luck!
11. Catching up books while laying in the grass at the dog park
12. The return of Dexter
13. Sneaking into hotel pools in downtown San Diego

So, I'd love to hear what Summer means to all of YOU too!

The Shark Attack // Guest Post

The lovely and talented Darci from Chic Living is stopping by today to share her fave drink: The Shark Attack. Girlfriend has good taste because this is a simple twist on my own favorite drink: The Dirty Shirley. If you don't know Darci, please stop by her blog where she features her thoughts on design, fashion, entertaining and lots of fun things in between!

---

Hello to all of you fabulous GlamourMash readers! Darci here from Chic Living. I am so excited to be here today sharing one of my favorite go-to summer cocktails!

Even though summer isn't 'officially' upon us, this warm weather means lots of outdoor entertaining. I love playing hostess and part of that role means having pretty drinks for my guests. One drink that is as simple as it is delicious is the Shark Attack! The best part? It's pink!

Enough talking though.

Of course the glasses you use don't truly matter, but this drink would typically go in a collins glass, which I clearly do not have :) The fishy ice tray comes from IKEA and I knew I had to have one! It's perfect for this drink!

Now it's your turn to give the shark attack a try at your next outdoor party!

And a big thanks to Holly for having me!

---

Sounds delicious and so refreshing, right!? I think I will replace my morning coffee with a shark attack from now on! That will start my day off right! Thanks again Darci for sharing your fave drink with us!

My Annual Texas Trip Featuring Styling Tips from KOKOON

Every July, my sister and I take an annual trip to Austin, Texas to visit our Texas pals. While there, we all get together and float the Guadalupe River with a big cooler of refreshments. It's about as close to heaven as it gets. We also visit the city of Gruene, which is home to the oldest dance hall in all of Texas. We always try to get there in time for Gospel Brunch, which features biscuits and grave and other amazing Texan food.

We also make a trip out to downtown Austin scene for dancing and drinks. It's about the only place I know of where you can order a flaming Dr. Pepper... which they actually light on fire! Yum! We also visit New Braunfels and catch a concert at the WhiteWater Amphitheater, a beautiful concert venue set right on the Guadalupe river.

It's a trip I look forward to every year and it's been a long-standing tradition for all of our Texas pals and my sister and I! This trip is also about the only time that I get to pull out my cowboy boots and put together some awesome country outfits. Taking a cue from my sponsor, KOKOON, I think the below outfit is Texas perfection! Casual and not too overly done.

Have you all heard of KOKOON before? It's a fabulous, modern pop-up boutique, which brings their clothing line to women via private appointments and in-home trunk shows. Proudly designed in the USA, KOKOON features soft knits, vibrant prints and limited edition designs. They also feature an online store which you can shop by clicking HERE

And because you know how I love to share women's success in business... KOKOON's founder and designer, Laine Sou Weinberg, started the company in 1987 with one sewing machine in her basement studio. The company now has many years of successful retail and catalog relationships including Nordstrom and Fred Segal = amazing!

Shop the site HERE and share your fave piece! You can also visit their social media platforms here:

The Golden Girl

Hey my beautiful readers! Tell me your weekend plans!!!

In reverse... I am going to celebrate Mother's Day with my mama on Sunday, plan my friend's bachelorette and bridal shower with a pack of my lovely girls on Saturday and then watch The Great Gatsby and welcome home my boyfriend from the Kentucky Derby on Friday!

Ok, so today The Great Gatsby comes out in theaters and I am freaking OUT! I am more than halfway through the book and want to finish it before I see the movie tomorrow! Problem is, I have like 30 minutes of free time tomorrow so I am hoping to speed read the heck out of the book!!

So, I have been having quite the obsession with gold belts lately. They are a simple addition but can have such a huge impact on an outfit. Here are some of my to picks. What do you think of the gold belt trend!?
